YOUTH NIGHT INFORMATION - THURSDAY, OCTOBER 5TH @ ROGERS HIGH SCHOOL

Greetings Parents and Coaches of RAYVA athletes!

We have our annual Youth Night on Thursday, October 5th during the Varsity home match at Rogers High School in the Den. It is a fun and exciting event for your athletes that starts off with team pictures in the Commons (enter through door I), followed by free admission to the Varsity match (against Spring Lake Park) for players and coaches.

Every player will receive a gift bag with a raffle ticket to win a prize (called out during the match) and an information sheet about Club Velocity (winter/spring volleyball program).  All the fall youth house and travel teams will be introduced before the match and they will circle the court before the national anthem.  After the match we will have a “meet and greet” autograph session with the varsity players.  Your child(ren) will have the opportunity to have a varsity team picture signed by the players.  If all goes well, this should happen around 8:30 pm or sooner.

Time slot assignments for pictures are listed above.  Please arrive at RHS 10-15 minutes before your scheduled time so your athlete can find their coach(es).  Enter at the door north of the roundabout and find your coach in the cafeteria/commons area.  Please make sure to wear your team t-shirt.

More specifics for Youth Night:

  • Your child’s Rogers Volleyball t-shirt is their admission into the game.  Non-coach parents must pay ($7 per adult).

  • Raffle ticket numbers will be read periodically throughout the first three sets of the varsity match, but you must be present to win.

  • Club Velocity JO volleyball will have a table set up for questions.

  • The bleachers behind the player benches will be reserved for RAYVA teams and family members.

  • The players and coaches will participate in a “grand march” at 6:50 pm.  By 6:45 pm (or sooner), we would like all players and coaches to meet in the foyer outside of the den.  There will be signs on the wall.  Please stand by your team sign/coach/team.  After the varsity match, players will be positioned at tables (on the court in the Den) to autograph posters provided by the Rogers High School booster club (Setters Club).

Note:  We encourage parents/guardians to watch their child(ren) while they participate in the Youth Night activities and enjoy a fun evening of watching Rogers Royals volleyball!  RAYVA coaches and volunteers will supervise athletes through the photography session and while they are participating in the “grand march”.  However, RAYVA will not be supervising beyond these activities.  This evening is to be treated like any other Rogers High School sporting event.  Therefore, a parent/guardian or suitable proxy is ultimately responsible for the well-being of their own child(ren) during the evening.  Given that, if a parent/guardian is comfortable dropping off and picking up their child later, they may do so, but that child is not the coach's or RAYVA's responsibility.

Please reach out to Lelei with any questions or concerns.

Thanks,

Lelei
